Automating your workflows with Greetings, Away Messages, and Canned Responses

Hipmob comes with several ways to do more faster. Here are 3 ways to automate your workflows!

Answer questions faster with Canned Responses

  Canned responses help you quickly answer questions that frequently arise, with a high quality, standardised response. This way, your agents can save time, and your customers get the information they need. Here's how to use them:
  1. In the dashboard, go to the "My Apps" tab: https://manage.hipmob.com/#apps
  2. Select "Settings"  for the app you want to create a canned response for (as shown below):
  3. Select "Canned Responses" from the left hand menu
  4. Enter the "Response Tag" as shown above. This is what your agents will type during a chat, in order to send the response to a user
  5. Enter the "Response Content" as shown above. This is what your users will see, when an agent types in the response tag
  6. Press "Create"
​And you're done! A completed canned response will look like this:

To send a canned response during a conversation, just type "#send [response tag]". In this case, you would type "#send ratejoist". 


Welcome your visitors with a greeting!


Easily send your visitors greetings by following the steps below
 
  1. In the dashboard, go to the "My Apps" tab: 
  2. Select "Settings"  for the app you want to create a Greeting for (as shown below). Think of a greeting as a welcome message.
  3. Select "Messages" on the left hand side menu, and enter a greeting in the top field. One example of a greeting might be "Hi, Ayo here from Hipmob and I'm happy to help. Are you looking for live chat on your website or for a mobile app today?"4. Hit Update. Now, whenever a visitor starts a chat, they'll be welcomed (unless no one is there, in which case they will get an away message. More on away messages is below).

Keep visitors informed with away messages!


Easily keep your visitors informed, by letting them know when no one is around. Here's how
 
  1. In the dashboard, go to the "My Apps" tab: 
  2. Select "Settings"  for the app you want to create an away message for (as shown below). Think of a greeting as a welcome message.
  3. Select "Messages" on the left hand side menu, and enter your away message as shown below. One example of an away message might be "Hi there - sorry we're not around to answer you at the moment, but leave us a note here (or drop a line at ayo@hipmob.com) and we'll answer you as soon as we're back. "4. Hit Update. Now, whenever a visitor starts a chat while you're away, they'll receive your away message!
